I'm surprised it happened as fast as it did. I always speak my mind, which is to say I complain endlessly about everything. But I underestimated the affect it had.

My mother kicked me out of the house without a dime in my pocket. It ended up being the best thing she ever did for me.

Possible way to caclulate Great Tribulation?
by sinis ini was reading through some of the "other" bible texts (apocraphyls (sp?
)) and came across an interesting verse regarding the fallen angels:enoch 10:11 .
and the lord said unto michael: 'go, bind semjaza and his associates who have united themselves with women so as to have defiled themselves 12 with them in all their uncleanness.

I am of the opinion that attempts to calculate the date - whether the month, year, or even the century - of the end pisses God off.

Explain monogamy to me
by joelbear in.
my preferred social construct would be a group of 5 to 10 men sharing space, chores, well everything.. if i were heterosexual i think i would prefer the same situation, 2 or 3 families living together and sharing all.. actually i believe this should be a worldwide goal, total community in every sense of the word.. i see no advantage served by social and sexual diads.. please explain it to me.

Monogamy is like having a favorite shirt. It's familiar and comfortable, if a bit out of fashion.

I think that's the idea, RunningMan. Then they can say "The internet is full of worldly people, so you must avoid it."

Elders wives, are they more submissive?
by JH ini know an elder (hermann) who is so fat and out of shape that his wife has to mow the lawn and shovel the entrance.
she also works hard inside to make his food and keep everything clean.
he is 73 and she is 70.. i wonder what verse he uses to make her do so much?

Without knowing more of the details, such as what either of them say about the arrangement, I don't know that this is an example of a submissive wife. She may enjoy staying active in her golden years and taking care of her husband, knowing now that she's survived cancer she's bound to outlive him.
Dominant and submissive people are naturally drawn to each other. I've known non-JW couples who were examples of this, and to a greater degree than any JW couple. I've also known JW couples who only paid lip service to the concept.
Based on my experience, hardly. But that doesn't preclude the possibility. -

I do not believe in suffering fools gladly, so I'll add my voice to this thread. JH, you're a tool and your prejudice is obvious. Your attempted silencing - even to the point of calling in a mod - someone for disagreeing with you is disgusting. Such tactics are used by the WTS.

Welcome! Children are a mixed blessing, and it helps to have a support network like this for when it's a little harder.
